QUORUM COURT Quorum Court The county legislative body is entitled the Quorum Court and is composed of 9-15 members called Justices of the Peace. These Justices of the Peace are district officers and not county officials because they represent a district within the county.* Cleburne County has 11 Districts. Here are a few tips on understanding the homestead information on your notice: If your real property in Cleburne County is not your Principal place of residence, the notice will not answer the homestead questions. Therefore, it will not show yes where it asks if you are over 65 nor will it show yes, if you receive social security disability. The homestead act allows a frozen assessed value for either being over 65 or for being on social security disability on your principal place of residence. If your notice shows a yes on one of these, then the assessed value on your parcel is frozen. Reappraisal notices will never show DAV exemption. DAV exemption is taken care of in the Collector's Office not the Assessor's Office.

VIEW MORE Winkley Bridge Site The Winkley Bridge holds a lot of history for Cleburne County. It was in service from 1912-1972. It was open to foot traffic until it collapsed in 1989. Near the river you can see a beautiful view of Sugarloaf Mountain. VIEW MORE JFK Overlook JFK overlook is a beuatiful spot with a great view of both Greers Ferry Lake and the Little Red River. It is dedicated to President John F Kennedy who dedicated the Dam in 1963. It also houses a small museum and information on the Greers Ferry Dam along with an auditorium that features slides shows.
