EVACUATION ROUTES FOR DAM FAILURE OR DIKE BREACH

The Cleburne County Office of Emergency Management has established color coded evacuation routes to be used in the event of a dam failure or dike breach below Greers Ferry Dam.

The attached map shows the areas affected and families need to become familiar with it in case evacuations are ever necessary.

The evacuation routes are State Highway 25 North, also known as Heber Springs Road North (Red Route); State Highway 25 South, also known as Heber Springs Road South and State Highway 25 West, also known as Heber Springs Road West (Blue Route); State Highway 5 North, also known as Mountain View Road (Yellow Route).

If you live outside the shaded areas, it is recommended that you stay in place.

In the event of an evacuation, Conway, Mountain View, and Batesville would establish shelters to house displaced Cleburne County residents.

For more information, please contact Greg Carr, Cleburne County Office of Emergency Management at 501-362-2911.
